“Mixing possible” with UPANEXT

Niederlangen. With the introduction and commissioning of the UPANEXT® series, this type of baler ushered in a new era in recycling, both in the construction and operation of fully automatic balers. Genetically determined and shaped by the benefits of the well-known and proven UPAMAT series, the commissioning of the UPANEXT® marked the start of a success story from the very outset.

The benefits are crystal clear: Always equipped with a high-efficiency main press drive and countless examples regarding all the available and possible configuration details, two aspects still deserve to be highlighted. Regardless of its configuration, either as a full-format press in bale format 110 x 110 or as a medium-format press in bale format 75 x 110, the UPANEXT® can be equipped with fully automatic cross-wiring.
The corresponding additional package in the version as a fully automatic add-on that can be switched on and off, can be selected under the abbreviation ACT (adaptive cross tying) for all the format sizes mentioned.
With ACT, the operator can then switch the function of the horizontal setting on or off fully automatically via a parameter that can easily be selected in the recipe settings.
At this point, additional manual intervention is no longer required. In extreme cases, the horizontal tying can actually be switched on or off, virtually “on the fly”. In other words, this provides UPANEXT® operators with another highly efficient tool that enables sequential tying during ongoing bale production.
Here, too, the benefits are clear: As we know, the physical properties of certain goods often change when they are pressed, even if they have been rated as similar in their classification on the input side.
With a view to preventing disruptions in bale production at this point, the operator has the option, for example, to intervene directly and immediately in bale production by way of ACT activation in order to react to such fluctuations with great flexibility.
This means that complex multiple compressions and malfunctions in downstream bale logistics, for example, due to bursting bale containers, can be avoided. At the same time, the consumption of binding wire can be dosed and planned with precision.

The main ram is definitely considered another centrepiece of every baler. In the additional TSC (total slot cover) version, all the tying grooves required for automatic tying are initially fully closed during the pressing operation. All the strapping slots will open automatically only when it is time to strap the bale, after the sequence of several compaction strokes.

As such, malfunctions and jams in the tying caused by pressing residues and other impurities, which in conventional designs regularly and always lead to malfunctions in the tying mechanism, are a now a distant memory.
ACT and TSC, combined, thus offer unprecedented flexibility and safety in the treatment of a wide range of waste while also reducing pressing costs. With the new UPANEXT® equipped with (ACT & TSC),
unoTech GmbH is once again introducing an innovative compaction system to the market in the segment of cutting edge presses, which sets new standards in flexibility and productivity.
